In the life of every person, there are choices that define the rest of it. In my life, there were several such moments: choosing computer science as a major, deciding to learn French, moving to Canada, having kids, doing a PhD, and writing my first book. Each of these decisions defined who I am today.
And today, I made one more such choice: I decided to resign from my full-time job and become a professional book writer.
This changes everything for me. For the first time in 20 years, I don't have a stable source of revenue, benefits, manager, or subordinates.
And it feels good!
Here's what I'm planning to do in the next couple of years. I started working on my new book in The Hundred-Page Books series: the reinforcement learning book. I'm planning to publish it before the end of the year.
Next, I will write books on computer vision and diffusion models. Then, I will work on the second edition of The Hundred-Page Machine Learning Book.
I know that many of you have read my books and know how much I care about quality, clarity, and every small detail that makes a great book.
If you want to support me in this new chapter of my life, consider becoming a paid subscriber with a membership option of your choice.
Your support will help me dedicate myself fully to writing these books, and I’d love for you to be part of the process. As a paid subscriber, you will have access to early chapter previews and free e-book copies once the books are published. I am at the beginning of an exciting journey, I am ready to set out, and I'm happy to share it with you.
